Overview
This certificated first aid course has been designed for those that have the professional responsibility of looking after young children up to 8 years of age such as teachers,au pairs,playground leaders,nannies and registered childminders.
Who is it for?
Anyone who is working with young children up to 8 years of age and those working towards an NVQ/SVQ in Childcare and Education.

- Health & safety legislation and the implications of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981
- First aid policies & procedures
- First aid risk assessments
- Emergency first aid for children theory & practical incorporating CPR
- Record keeping

- How to treat an unconscious casualty

- Common injuries within a childcare environment
- How to report and record an incident
- How to deal with emergency services
- How to deal with chocking,asthma,diabetic emergencies, seizures, burns, scalds, shocks, external bleeding, poisoning, bites, stings, fractures, sprains, gunshot and stab wounds.
