Risk Assessment
Under the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations all employers must complete detailed risk assessments on all job tasks,staff,working environment,equipment,working practices and any loads or people that have to be transferred with or without equipment.
It is not sufficient to simply state low,medium or high risks.There must be a clear evidence trail to prove how a conclusion was reached,as under the Health & Safety at Work Act an employer must prove that they have done everything reasonably practical,and this will start with your risk assessments !
If an employer is to defend themselves in court evidence based risk assessments are essential.
